An Easy Breakfast- Overnight Oatmeal!

Tired of cereal every morning, and too exhausted to cook anything up? There’s a simple, and rather modular solution to this issue; Overnight oatmeal! All you need is quick oats, I prefer Quaker Steel Cut Oats, some plain yogurt, a spoonful of peanut butter, milk or almond milk, and a few other options of your choice for more flavor.

Some other topping option

Personally I dice an apple to mix into the oatmeal, and sprinkle cinnamon over the top. To make a single serving, measure out a 1/3 cup oats and a 1/3 cup of yogurt, mixing them together with a large spoonful of peanut butter. Slowly add 2/3 of almond milk, stirring it all the while until it is consistent. After this, add the extras of your choice, or simply put it in the fridge. Other options for extras include bananas, frozen fruit, maple syrup, cocoa powder, almonds, coconut, and more. Other sweeteners can be used in place of maple syrup, such as honey. This recipe can be made in a mason jar or other sort of resealable container.

I learned this recipe from preparing it what feels like hundreds of times for my mother for her before work breakfast every weekday. She only has an hour before she has to go to work every morning, so having something already prepared for her to even take to work every day is incredibly helpful for her given her workload. As an incredibly hard and busy worker, it’s important for me to help her however I can. Maybe you can make this for someone important in your life with a tight schedule!
